Engaging European Policymakers for Democratic Change
During Berlin Freedom Week, Hiwa held a series of high-level engagements with European policymakers, government officials, and civil society leaders—strengthening its role as an emerging voice on human rights and democratic transition.
Led by Sardar Pashaei, the delegation advanced Hiwa’s mission to support civil society, elevate marginalized communities, and build international alignment around a democratic future.

Hiwa met with Hannah Neumann, Member of the European Parliament (Alliance 90/The Greens) and Chair of the Delegation for Relations with Iran.
The discussion focused on Iran’s internal dynamics, the role of grassroots actors, and the importance of long-term strategic engagement. The meeting established a direct channel for continued dialogue with European institutions on Iran policy and human rights.
German Bundestag
Hiwa held a joint meeting with Kassem Taher Saleh and Cansu Özdemir, with participation from Maryam Claren of Hawar Help.
